- Troubleshoot common issues

Details
Before you begin
- TDX uses Ursinus Single Sign-On via Okta. You will typically be redirected to Okta (https://ursinus.okta.com) to sign in and complete multi-factor authentication (MFA). If you’re already signed in to Okta in your browser, you may go straight into TDX without an extra prompt.
- Common Okta MFA methods include Okta Verify push or code, SMS code, or a security key. If you changed devices or need to manage factors, visit https://ursinus.okta.com after signing in.
1) Sign in to the TDX portal
1. Open a browser and go to: https://requests.ursinus.edu
2. Select Sign In in the upper-right corner.
3. You will be redirected to Ursinus Okta (https://ursinus.okta.com). Sign in with your Ursinus credentials and complete Okta MFA. If you are already authenticated with Okta in this browser session, you may not be prompted again.
4. Confirm you’re signed in by checking for your name in the upper-right corner.

2) Navigate to “My Approvals”
Important: “My Approvals” appears under Services.
1. While signed in at https://requests.ursinus.edu, select your name in the upper-right corner.
2. Choose Services, then select My Approvals.
- On mobile, open the menu (three lines/hamburger), tap your name > Services > My Approvals.
3. You’ll see a list of items awaiting your action. Select an item to review details.
4. Choose Approve or Deny. Add a comment if requested or if helpful for the requester/IT team.
5. Submit your decision.
Notes
- Some approvals require you to open the item and read additional details before the Approve/Deny buttons appear.
- After you act, the item will leave your My Approvals list. The requester and workflow will be updated automatically.

3) Approve or deny directly from email
When an approval is assigned to you, you’ll receive an email notification. The email typically includes:
- Basic request details (title, requester, description)
- Action buttons: Approve and Deny
- A link to View/Review Approval in the portal
To approve or deny from the email:
1. Open the approval email.
2. Select Approve or Deny.
3. Your browser opens to TDX. If prompted, sign in with Okta (https://ursinus.okta.com) and complete MFA.
4. Optionally add a comment, then confirm your decision.
What to expect
- Your decision is recorded on the request, and the requester/workflow is notified automatically.
- You may receive reminder emails until you act. Once approved/denied, reminders stop.
- Email links are unique to you. Do not forward them to others.
Security tip
- Only use approval links in messages you trust. If an approval email looks suspicious, do not click links — go directly to https://requests.ursinus.edu > Sign In > Your name > Services > My Approvals to act.
Troubleshooting
- I don’t see “My Approvals.”
- Make sure you are signed in (your name appears in the top-right).
- Click your name > Services > My Approvals. The My Approvals option is under Services.
- You may not currently have any approvals assigned. Check your inbox for an approval email or verify with the request owner.
- If you were part of a group approval, another group member may have already acted.
- The email link doesn’t work or is expired.
- Go directly to https://requests.ursinus.edu, sign in, and open My Approvals via Your name > Services > My Approvals.
- Try a different browser or a private/incognito window if you get a sign-in loop.
- I can’t sign in.
- Ensure your Okta sign-in is successful at https://ursinus.okta.com and complete Okta MFA.
- If you recently changed devices or don’t receive MFA prompts, manage your factors at https://ursinus.okta.com after signing in, or contact support.
- Clear your browser cache/cookies for ursinus.okta.com and requests.ursinus.edu, or try a private/incognito window.
- I need someone else to approve.
- Do not forward your approval email (links are unique to you). Instead, deny with a comment indicating who should approve, or contact the Technology Support Team to reassign the approval.
