To create an announcement in Canvas, go to the desired course and click on Announcements.
Click on the +Announcement button.
Create an announcement title (1), message (2), and set your options (3-5). Then click on Save.
The announcement will now appear in the Announcements section of your course. To show recent announcements on the homepage of your course, go to Settings and then scroll down and click More Options.
Check the box next to "Show recent announcements on Course home page" and then choose the number of recent announcements you want to show.
Select Update Course Details.
