FAQs

  1. What is the difference between Office applications on my computer vs. the web versions? When you log in to Office 365 online, you will have access to the same Microsoft Office applications that you've downloaded to your computer. The online version may not have all the features of the desktop version. Therefore, if you are working in any of these apps online (e.g. Word Online) and you need additional features, you can click on a link that says “Open in…” or “Edit in…” to view and edit the file in the desktop application.
  2. Will changes I make online sync to the desktop version, and vice versa? Yes, any files you edit in the online apps (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel) will automatically save (usually to your OneDrive account). When you make edits in the desktop version and click Save, it will sync the changes to your online account. If you ever experience syncing issues, log in to Office 365 online, go to OneDrive, and click on Sync.
